This wall mounted kitchen cupboard was commissioned as part of a full kitchen project in a beautiful country cottage near Shaftsbury in Dorset.
The bespoke cupboard was used to store glass wear and crockery.
The carcase itself, like the rest of the kitchen, was made as a one off with adjustable shelves. The doors are made from moisture resistant mdf and then veneered with Olive Ash and Black Walnut, finished with tung oil.
A delightful sweeping detail reflects the contours of the rolling hills that can be viewed from the kitchen windows. The detail is double sided so it continues when the doors are open.
When the doors are shut, this humble kitchen cupboard is often mistaken for a unique work of art, a painting with many lines and contours depicting the stunning Dorset landscape. This inspired idea showing Daniel to be both a talented designer and artist.
After the kitchen the clients went on to commission a utility room, an Oak dining table, an office space with curving work station and book casing in their Dorset cottage.
